Since 1896 Devonport High School for Boys (DHSB) has provided an opportunity for able boys from Plymouth, SW Devon and SE Cornwall to pursue a broad academic curriculum in an atmosphere that encourages and rewards success.

Devonport High School for Boys provides a disciplined, well structured and happy environment in which our students work hard and play hard to achieve levels of excellence that reflect their potential and our expectations. All students wear uniform and are encouraged to show courtesy and respect to others - themes that are central to the school ethos.

Throughout the school there is an emphasis on the development of personal qualities, on the widening of horizons and on preparation for a purposeful and caring role in society. At 18 our leavers are well qualified for entry to the university course or career of their choice.

Devonport High School for Boys offers a wide range of extra-curricular activities including competitive sport, drama, music, community service and expeditions in the UK and overseas. All students are in one of six houses and this gives further opportunity for representative sport and other competition, all of which contribute to the house point tally that leads to the annual award of the St Levan Shield.
