Bournemouth School is a selective Grammar school for boys. We pride ourselves on providing an excellent all-round education which prepares our students for the widest possible range of careers. We celebrate the traditions that have developed since our foundation in 1901, but we are constantly looking for new challenges so that we can improve the experiences gained by the students and broaden the range of opportunities available to them. We are very proud of the extensive range of extra-curricular activities which are available to our students; sport, music, Scouts and the Combined Cadet Force are particular strengths.
The school acquired specialist Language College status in September 2000 and we became a designated Training School, with a particular emphasis on the teaching of highly able pupils, in April 2009. Through our specialisms we are involved in collaboration with a large number of primary and secondary schools within Bournemouth.
